In Saint-Rémy-sur-Creuse, the road is picturesque, lined with chalk cliffs dotted with cave dwellings – shelters that were popular in medieval times and later among hemp weavers from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
The wooded route follows quiet roads towards Oyré and then enters Châtellerault via a lovely greenway.
